TT4 Beretta 93r

The Beretta 93R is a weapon featured in the Thing-Thing series.

OverviewEdit

Real lifeEdit

The Beretta 93R is a select-fire machine pistol designed and manufactured by the Italian Beretta firm in the 1970s for police and military use, based on the 92 series. The R in its name stands for Raffica, the Italian word for "volley", "flurry", or "burst", befitting of the handgun being a select-fire weapon. The 93R, chambered in 9mm Parabellum, can fire a three-round burst at a rate of 1100 rounds per minute.

GamesEdit

The three-round blasts fired by the weapon tends to cause the gun to rise, making it rather difficult to land some hits with it at a long distance. The best way to use this gun effectively is at close range.

In Thing-Thing 1, the weapon can only be unlocked by activating the game's cheat code in the main menu before starting it.

In Thing-Thing 4, it has a similar rate of fire to the Steyr TMP but the three-round burst makes it a bit less reliable, for it would take several shots at an enemy to get a kill with the weapon.

TriviaEdit

  • This weapon was used as the basis for the Auto-9, a fictional machine pistol featured in the classic science-fiction movie, RoboCop.
