Real life[]
The VP70 is the world's first polymer-framed handgun, predating the Glock 17 by twelve years. It was produced from 1970 to 1989. There are two variations of the weapon; the VP70M (military) and the VP70Z (civilian). The VP70M is chambered in the standard 9x19mm Parabellum, while its semi-automatic civilian counterpart fires 9x21mm IMI rounds. It is fed by an 18-round box magazine clip.
One unique feature, particularly in the VP70M, is a combination stock/holster attachment that incorporates a selector switch. When the stock is equipped to the gun, the selector switch can be used to set the VP70M in either a semi-automatic firing mode, or a three-round burst mode that has a cyclic rate of 2200 rounds per minute. When the stock is not attached to the weapon, it acts as a holster.

The VP70 variation featured in Thing-Thing Arena is the VP70M, which comes equipped with the stock attachment and is set to the three-round burst mode. Since the gun is set to fire a three-round burst with one left-click of the mouse, it is good for firing in small bursts. Of course, it usually takes more than one three-round burst to kill an enemy.
